SELF-AWARENESS

Self-Awareness is the ability to be aware of our emotions.

EMOTIONAL AWARENESS

Emotional Awareness is the ability to recognize our emotions, differentiate among different ones, and understand the impact of emotions. Other people might understand and experience emotions differently than you do. Also, you might trigger emotions in others, so being sensitive to this possibility will help you communicate more effectively.

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you are sometimes in tune with your emotions. At times you are aware of the emotion you are experiencing and can identify that emotion. Sometimes you understand that one can experience a range of emotions. You can sometimes understand why you feel a particular emotion at a given point. You may know your reactions to these emotions and realize that thoughts drive your feelings. Sometimes you use your perception of emotions to guide your actions. When interacting with others, your level of awareness helps you be in touch with your feelings sometimes but not always. Increasing your awareness could help you predict your reactions to people or situations, which may help you respond more effectively or remove yourself from situations you are not ready to handle in personal and social settings or at Work.

SELF-MANAGEMENT

Self-Management is your ability to manage your emotions effectively. 

EMOTIONAL SELF-CONTROL

Emotional Self-control is the ability to keep emotions under control. Other people might be influenced by emotions more or less than you. Understanding other individuals' levels of self-control can help you communicate with them more effectively. 

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you are highly in control of your emotions. You can quickly realize when emotions start taking control, and you can effectively manage them. You can keep a check on your reactions and behavior even during stressful times, and you find ways to calm yourself. You can also focus on the thoughts running through your mind and change the negative thoughts to positive ones to handle emotionally charged situations. Finally, you can identify the reason behind your emotions, which helps you control them effectively. Your ability to control emotions can help you objectively understand people and their perspectives — especially during an emotionally charged or personal crisis. Your ability to control emotions can also help you at work. You can be objective about understanding others' perspectives and make appropriate decisions. Awareness that emotions impact behavior helps you hold back to reevaluate situations and say the right things during an argument with a colleague, friend, or loved one. For example, you can quickly cool off from a heated argument and value the person and the relationship, which helps you stay objective and bias-free. Your self-control will help you engage in constructive discussions, find compromises and consensus, to make good decisions.

ACHIEVEMENT ORIENTATION

Achievement Orientation is our desire to meet or exceed a standard of excellence. Other people might seek achievement more or less than you, and understanding other individuals' achievement orientation will help you better understand how they manage themselves.

Your responses indicate that challenges and goals sometimes drive you. You may not always be sure of yourself. You may or may not believe in yourself — your ability to meet and achieve the goals, depending on the situation or goal. You are self-motivated and may take on new challenges once you reach a goal. However, you usually aim at achieving the set goal and may not go beyond that. Your drive to achieve goals and conquer challenges may not directly impact relationships. You are sometimes driven to achieve, which can help you at work. You sometimes set challenging goals and want to do better. Your degree of achievement orientation can bring success, satisfaction, and recognition.

POSITIVE OUTLOOK

A Positive Outlook is an ability to look positively at situations, problems, stress, self, and others. Other people may have a more or less optimistic view than you. Understanding other individuals' approaches will help you understand their perspectives and communicate effectively.

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you take a positive approach to things. You are optimistic about the outcomes of situations. You can review or reinterpret words and actions and quickly turn a stressful message into a positive one. You always look at the bright side of things and elicit positive emotions in yourself and others. Your positive approach can impact your relationships and work. Your ability to turn a stressful message into a positive one can help you avoid the stress a comment or argument can cause. In times of stress and emotional turmoil at home or with friends, you can stay positive and calm. You tend to pursue your goals despite setbacks and obstacles. Your ability to turn a stressful message into a positive one can help you deal effectively with peers and colleagues. In times of uncertainty at work, you can stay positive and calm.

ADAPTABILITY 

Adaptability is openness to change and flexibility to adapt to change. Other people might be impacted by change more or less than you. Understanding other individuals' levels of adaptability and flexibility will help you understand their perspective, empathize, and learn. 

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you are stable and reasonable amid pressure and uncertainties. You are even able to recognize the need to change. When changes are required, you willingly accept them and can rework your priorities and transition smoothly. Your adaptability helps your relationships and your work. You can support your family, friends, and colleagues amid pressure, changes and uncertainties. You can lead and help others adjust when life events throw up changes. Your ability to be flexible and accept changes allows you to adapt quickly to new expectations, new kinds of work, and people. As a result, changes do not perturb you.

SOCIAL AWARENESS 

Social Awareness is the ability to recognize emotions in others. 

EMPATHY 

Empathy is understanding others' feelings and perspectives as if they were yours. Other people may be more or less empathetic than you. Understanding other individuals' empathy levels will help you communicate and interact with them more effectively.

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you can sometimes understand others' feelings and perspectives. You try to help people feel heard, listen to people's concerns, and lend an empathetic ear. You can sometimes empathize with friends, family, colleagues, and others. You can sometimes understand the feelings, perspectives, and non-verbal signals of others, but not always. Increasing your levels of empathy can help others feel heard — whether friends, family, or colleagues. In addition, empathy is a great skill to have as a team member, manager, and leader. So, learning to enhance this skill is essential.

ORGANIZATIONAL AWARENESS 

Organizational Awareness is the ability to read a group's emotional dynamics and power relationships. Other people might be more or less aware of group dynamics than you. Understanding other individuals' sensitivity to emotions in a group can help you understand their perspectives and reactions, which will help you work with groups more effectively.

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you can identify the influencers in a group. You can quickly identify the person with more power in a relationship and understand the dynamics among people. You try to connect to the group's emotions and understand the group's dynamics better. You are aware of the dynamics and relationships in a group, which is a great asset at work. For example, you can identify the power play among team members — and managers and team members. You use this understanding to identify networks, evaluate team dynamics, and improve your decisions and peer interactions. Your awareness helps you resolve conflicts and even manage others.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

Relationship Management involves applying your understanding of emotions when dealing with others.

INFLUENCE

Influence is the ability to persuade others. Other people may be more or less influential than you. So, understanding other individuals' influencing skills may help you better understand their interactions and influence on others.  

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you can persuade others to agree with your viewpoints, but not consistently. You can sometimes convince others and win over them; you may sometimes realize your impact on others and inspire them. You can influence others at times but not always. Increasing your influencing skills can help you gather supporters for a social cause, a community event, a get-together of friends and family, or achieve a vision or complete a project at work. You may sometimes be able to convince others of a viewpoint you strongly hold.

COACHING AND MENTORING

Emotional intelligence relating to coaching and mentoring is the interest in helping others hone their skills and abilities. Other people might be better or worse at coaching and mentoring than you. Understanding other individuals' interests in coaching and mentoring can help you contemplate how you want to interact with the person.  

YOUR PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Your responses indicate that you enjoy guiding people. You take responsibility for coaching others to meet their goals and dreams. You provide support and mentor others on their learning journey. You believe you are a good coach. Your interest in guiding and mentoring others can improve your relationships and working life. You guide or coach your friends, family, and colleagues to achieve their goals. You often find ways to be a guide or a registered mentor at your organization to help others and provide support during their journey.
